Today, I want to talk about the “REDWING (Red Wing) 1907” 6inch Classic Moc Copper Rough and Tough.
A friend in New York sent it to me on Christmas Day.
レッドウィングの豊かな歴史、特に「1907」モデルの特徴について書いてみます。
長年にわたる職人技と革新が生み出したこのブーツの認知度って本当に凄いですよね。
日本人でレッドウィングを知らない人はいないのではないでしょうか？

1952年に登場したレッドウィングのトラクショントレッド・ソールは、平らでクッション性が高いのが特徴。
もはや説明不要ですね。
ワーク・ハンティングを用途とする男性用のブーツに初めて導入し発売した歴史があります。
特に8インチ丈の877モデルは、その後様々なバリエーションを生み出しました。
Introduced in 1952, Red Wing’s Traction Tred sole is known for its flat, cushioned design.
It was the first to be introduced in men’s boots for work and hunting.
The 8-inch #877 model later spawned various variations.
1907の特徴であるモカシンタイプのつま先（モックトゥ）は、どんな場所でも歩きやすく、長時間の使用でも疲れにくい設計です。
1907は他のクラシックモックとは異なり、フットベッドを挿入することを前提にラストの底面部に一定の厚みを設けた、モックトゥ用の45番ラストを使用しています。

名作の875や8875にはない仕様のようです。

紐の色合いもブラウン×ブラックでおしゃれ。
レザーシューレースも付属で付いているので、 自分の好みで交換が可能です。

#875と#877モデルは、アメリカを代表するワークブーツとしてなんと65年以上愛され続けているそうです。

「カッパー・ラフアンドタフ」レザーは、特有のムラ感とシワ感が特徴。
履き込むほどに味わいが増す、経年変化が楽しめます。
銀面（革の表面）をわずかに擦って加工し、オイルとワックスを加えたヌバック・レザーで、独特のムラ感と、靴の仕上げ段階で加えられるシワ感を持っています。レザーの進化を感じます。
このレザーでつくられたブーツは、最初から履き込まれたブーツのような味わいを持っています。
定番ではないアイリッシュセッター1907ならではという印象です。
